I hate to admit I live in Texas. I get icy stares here whenever I utter those words. You see, for me Texas is not my home, I could care less why all these crazy Texans feel the desperate need to "secede" from the United States, I don't understand all these wacky sayings, I cringe at hearing double negatives, I detest badly fried food, country fried steaks, and consuming anything that came from an animal, I don't get the love affair with both flip flops and cowboy boots and I don't give a damn about the fact that Texas was once its own country. You can probably venture to say that I don't exactly fit in here... However, this amazing Erin Wasson shoot reminds me why I love some parts about Texas. For example, those mobile taco stands by which I'm gesturing and saying loudly "No carne, no meat, just frijoles and vegetables!", being chased by mad people with firecrackers in their hands, and the gritty and brash attitude these people here have. That sam e grit and brashness is greatly reflected here by model Texan Erin, who I must say has me falling in love with her style aesthetic more and more lately....
